Stephanie Tyler has a yummy book getting ready to release and I LOVE a good military man so I had to share!!!

Maximum danger.
Maximum desire.
And holding on for dear life…

The Special Ops hero feared nothing
-until he met a woman too hot to hold…

Lt. Jake Hansen has survived some of the riskiest missions known to man. But now the wounded Navy SEAL faces his toughest job yet: Smuggling Dr. Isabelle Markham out of Africa without triggering an international incident. Not easy to do when the gorgeous hostage happens to be a senator’s daughter —and about as easy to resist as an oasis in the desert…

If it weren’t for Jake, Isabelle would still be halfway across the world, where rebel forces left her for dead. The Special Ops warrior may have saved her life, but she doesn’t need him to protect her now. Tell that to the ruggedly handsome hunk in full battle fatigues who’s just been assigned Isabelle’s personal bodyguard. Close quarters aside, Isabelle won’t let Jake anywhere near her heart — until danger throws them together again…and nothing in the jungles of wildest Africa could prepare them for a passion this wild. This crazy. This hot….

M/M Meme…NWS

Filed under: Uncategorized — jambrea @ 10:53 pm
I was tagged today by the lovely P! ~ for the M/M meme

Questions:

1. How long have you been reading GLBTQ fiction?
Two years…maybe? No longer than that. :)

2. What was the first book you read in this genre?
     Fireflies by Ally Blue

3. Are you ‘out’ as a reader?
    Yep!
4. Ebooks, print or both?
Mostly ebooks, but I do have some in print. :) I’m rereading Carol Lynne’s Cattle Valley series in print. I’m loving it!

5. Do you buy direct from publishers or from secondary sellers?
I always try to buy direct from the publisher because I know that the authors receive more royalties that way. :)

 6. Prove you’re a Book Slut. How many books would you say you buy a week?
Depends on the week. lol Hmmm…maybe 5

 7. Are you a cover, blurb or excerpt buyer?
All of the above. I had a book, Jan Irving The Janitor, that I really loved the cover. I was going to wait to buy it. Then I read the blurb, it put it up on my list. THEN…I read the excerpt and bought it on the spot. lol

8. Yeah, you read reviews, but do you actually take notice of them?
Sometimes. I’m more than likely to notice a friends review on the book, but I do check out sites.
9. Who’s your fave publisher?
Wow…I have a few that I buy from regularly. Ummm…plead the fifth. lol

10. What about authors? Your top two only!!
Only TWO! Are you nuts?!?!?!!  Hmmm…TA Chase and Carol Lynne (they count as one because they are writing a book together) and Ally Blue.  heehee

11. Is there a sub-genre you particularly dis/like?
I try any sub-genre at least once. I haven’t come across one I really dislike.

12. Short or long?? *rolls eyes* And, no, I’m not talking about cocks.
Depends on my mood. :) I like them both

13. Anything turn you off about m/m or is all just glorious smut to you?
I haven’t found anything yet so…glorious smut. lol

 14. Finish this sentence. You know it’s m/m twu wuv when…
the men are unzipping before the front door closes.

15. What trope or theme are you heartily sick of in m/m romance?
   Nothing. :)

16. If you could choose any 3 characters for a m/m/m who would they be?
Wow…this one is hard.  Um…Josh and Ryan from TA Chase’s Tabloid Star and add in….um….a cowboy from Carol Lynne’s Cattle Valley.  heehee

17. What new GLBTQ release are you most hanging out for right now?
Hmmm…any new release from my favorite authors.
18. What GLBTQ book has completely blown you away this year?
The Janitor by Jan Irving; Ghost of Alcatraz by Carol Lynne; Drawn Together and the St. Nacho books by ZA Maxfield; Ethan Day’s As You Are; Jet Mykles’ Just for You; I know there are more that I’m not saying. *sigh* I’ve read a LOT of great m/m this year

19. What do you think we’ll see more of in m/m romance in 2010?
Hmmm…I’m not sure. Probably more of the same.

20. Don’t you agree that author Josh Lanyon should kill off arsehole character Jake Riordan?
Um…no? I’ve read some Josh Lanyon that I LOVE, but I haven’t read the books with this character. Sorry.

overthemoon_800[1]Jenna says:  I was really interested in doing a story for the Over the Moon anthology. I’ve written mostly gay books recently because I love that genre, but occasionally I like to write some hetero stuff for those readers who prefer it. The concept of werewolves intrigued me. Jude and I had done a shifter series, including wolves, but werewolves are something different. When they shift is regulated by the moon, not by their choice. They’re more primal, more feral perhaps, than the normal shifters we’ve written.

The problem, when it came time to write the thing, was getting started. I didn’t have a blasted idea in my head. Jude and I co-author books and also write individually, and we were both working on other projects. I tossed the idea out there—sort of an ‘I want to do this, but I can’t do it without you’ kind of thing. Luckily for me, she took pity and agreed to collaborate, then dove in with suggestions.

I’m not an animal person, so Jude’s love of nature and most things wild really came in handy for this story. My contribution was more to the plot and dialogue (which is my favorite part of any story. I have to remember to add some description to my conversations.)

When all is said and done, I think we pulled this one off rather nicely. I hope readers will agree.

Jude says: When I saw this call, at first I wasn’t sure about writing for it. It was an anthology and I’d told myself I was going to write something alone. It’d been a while since I’d done a single author title. The concept intrigued me, but I figured there would be other calls I’d want to write for, Total E-Bound comes up with great ideas all the time.

Then the whirlwind called Jenna struck. She really seemed interested in writing for anthology. She had come up with a tentative plot but hadn’t worked the animal aspect in very well. As I’m a huge animal/outdoorsy type, I knew we could do this together. Voila, she talked me into it, or I did. I’m never quite sure when it comes to these things.

The actual writing was great fun. It always is with Jenna. She writes faster than I do, and at times I curse her for it, but don’t tell her. Once we got the beginning, the rest of the story went like wildfire. The characters, Gareth and Sienna, are people you’d like to have as neighbors: quiet, kept to themselves and never have loud parties. I’m sure you’ll all agree once you’ve read the book.

Over the Moon Anthology: Trapped
By Jude Mason and Jenna Byrnes

Gareth and Sienna are a normal, crazy-in-love married couple, who just happen to become werewolves with the full moon. When a trio of poachers captures Sienna, Gareth does everything in his power to free her. But he knows rescuing her is not enough. If the poachers are not brought down, the very existence of the were species could be in jeopardy. He hatches a plan in which the hunters become the hunted. Will they take the bait? And who will be trapped? (m/f)

Chapter One

“Sienna, quit it.” Gareth shifted around, trying to dislodge his lady’s fingers from under his arms. He was incredibly ticklish, and she loved to torment him, especially when he was trying to watch a movie she didn’t particularly want to see. She liked her romance, he preferred action.

Tendrils of long, dark auburn hair slapped his face as Sienna straddled his thighs. “Make me!” She dug her fingers in deep, sending him into new fits of laughter.

“Damn, woman, stop it before I have to paddle your ass.” He grabbed her by the forearms and held her hands down. It took him a moment to catch his breath, and when he did, he leaned forward and ran his stubbly chin across her chest. The pale orange tank top didn’t do a thing to protect her from his day’s growth of beard, and she yelped her surprise.

“Ouch, Gareth, jeeze!” She twisted, trying to break his hold on her and failed.

“You’re not going to let me watch my movie, are you?” He nipped at her breast through the thin cotton. The soft mound pressed against his face, his nose flattened, and he inhaled deeply, taking as much of her scent as he could. She smelled amazing. Woman and animal, lust and the unmistakable aroma of desire filled his nostrils.

He suddenly wanted her. Fingers tight around her arms, he pulled them high overhead, delighting in the curve of her body. He nuzzled harder against her breast, his teeth sinking into the taut nipple. Her moan urged him to the other side where he bit and chewed on its twin.

“Movie? What movie?” she moaned in a husky whisper.

She arched her back and shoved her hips forward, grinding into him. The sweet, musky scent of her cunt rose, and in moments, his temperature soared. His cock throbbed to life, pressing against her barely covered sex, the baggy cotton shorts giving him glimpses of the curly, dark public hair he knew adorned her plump folds.

“No movie. Hold on.” Gareth slipped his free arm around her body and got to his feet. He released her arms, and they instantly went around his neck, her legs around his waist, gripping him. Holding her ass tight, he staggered towards their bedroom, ignoring the blare of the TV behind him. They passed a large window, and when he glanced outside, he saw the sky darkening.

Soon, the moon would rise.

overthemoon_800[1]When Total E-Bound posts open calls for submissions, they’re normally snapped up before I get a chance to look at the requirements. I’d been wanting to write something for one of their anthologies for a while now, so when I saw the call for a werewolf anthology, I jumped on it. I wrote the first two chapters of a m/m story that came to mind. A fun, quirky fantasy with wolves, a werewolf, and dark elves.

And then my editor said that for this collection, my story needed to be between a man and a woman.

I was stymied, because Anson’s story really worked. While his twin escaped into the forest, Anson was forced to throw a lock of his hair into the Living Wood and wait for his mate to come claim him, a mate who happened to be male.  Twin escaped… My answer. Anson’s twin, the one who thought he’d escaped the matrimonial noose.  It was Fenris’s time to play.

So I put Anson on the backburner and told Fenris’s story. Sexy men, kick-ass women, wolves and sorcerers and a bear with attitude. Enemy Red has it all.  Now I just have to find time to finish Anson’s story, before his dark lover takes it upon himself to write his own ending.

Enemy Red by Marie Harte

Fenris, a golden wolf in the Silver Clan, has always been different — a rare wolf who can shift into the legendary werewolf form at will. He dreads his uncle’s plans to find him a mate and make him clan leader, and in an act of defiance, escapes the mating ceremony. But his run takes him much farther than he’d planned. The Wolf in the Forest, the spirit that protects his kind, has sent him into the arms of his enemy — the Red Clan.  Their leader, Rudra, is not only a female, but she’s a half breed, both human and wolf. An abomination, but one that draws him like no other wolf ever has. His inner wolf tells him what he can’t believe to be true; Rudra is his mate.

Rudra has no liking for the Silver Clan. Because of them her clan has been exiled from the Great Forest, thrust into humanity’s den. Her mother actually mated with a human, a sorcerer of great power. Though Rudra appreciates her magic and loves her parents dearly, she knows the dichotomy in her heritage will only make her more unwelcome by other wolves. Her plan to take back the land stolen from her clan is helped by the appearance of a strange wolf from the Silver Clan. But as the time passes, Rudra realizes she can’t use Fenris in her plans, not when her heart tells her that he’s more than special, he’s hers. She’ll have to decide what’s more important. Her clan, or her heart.

Guest Blog: My Favourite Beastly Men

3 Days to go and another author from the Over the Moon Anthology.
I am Victoria Blisse and I like manbeasts. From the hero Spider Man to Cousin It, I’ve always been drawn to men who have a little bit of animal magnetism about them.
Today I am going to share my top three with you.
So, in reveres order at Number three we have…

Beast from Beauty and The Beast.

Surely I am not the only girl who was disappointed when Beast turned into the human prince in the end, I mean, he looked like such a ponce.
I much preferred the rugged and raw beast man. I’m sure Belle probably felt a bit cheated, too.

And number two…

Now granted, this fella doesn’t look like a beast at all and that is partly why I love him so.

He’s George from Being Human, a BBC drama programme that features a Werewolf, a Vampire and a ghost all living in the same house.
George does not like the fact he is a werewolf. He hates it, he just wants to be a man again not a werewolf. Poor George, I always felt for him and he was such a nice guy.
Now we move on to number one.

Lowell from Moon Shy my story in the Over The Moon anthology!

Of course, who else would it be? Now reading the last two I am sure you can see where I got my inspiration for Lowell from. Lowell is very much a reluctant Werewolf.
He hates it, every time the full moon comes around he locks himself up in his cellar to wait it out.
He isolates himself away from society too and when he meets Jenny, a perfectly sweet if a little clumsy human he went to school with he finds himself torn between wanting
to stay away and throwing himself at her.

Now, would you like an Excerpt?

“He switched off the TV and headed upstairs to his bedroom. He flicked on the computer in the corner and sat down to check his personal emails. All spam.
He even found it difficult to reach out to people in cyber space. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to, he longed for some kind of interaction.It was just that people were so demanding.
They’d want phone calls and webcam conversations, and Lowell couldn’t give that.

It seemed far too much like a commitment, and he couldn’t commit to anyone. He was evil once a month, pure evil, and he couldn’t explain that to anyone. He leaned back in his chair
and scrolled through his bookmarks. He picked out his favourite and clicked it. When the delicious redhead snapped on screen, Lowell smiled. Jenny was prettier and more natural
than that girl. He continued to watch as she pulled off her clothes, and he ran his hand into his pants. She was masturbating right there on the screen for him, and he felt nothing,
not a thing—

until he imagined it was Jenny doing those things in front of him. Then his cock became rock hard almost instantaneously.He shook his head. He couldn’t think about Jenny like that,
it wasn’t right. He could never have a relationship like that with her. She was way out of his league for a start, but then there was his ‘monthly problem’ to contend with, too.
But he just could not shake her image from his mind.

As the girl on the screen gasped and a guy walked into the shot, he entered his own little fantasy world where he walked in on Jenny naked on the sofa, masturbating, mumbling
his name. He stroked himself rhythmically, and in his mind’s eye, he was walking over to her, grabbing her and stroking his hand down to her wet pussy. He imagined fingering her,
feeling her juices running all over his plunging fingers, and he heard her begging him to fuck her.

The best thing about fantasies was you could cut out the boring bits. Lowell stripped in the blink of an eye and pushed Jenny down onto her back. He climbed between her thighs
and fantasised how good she would feel around his dick. He imagined looking into her eyes as they fucked, and he felt the cum heavy inside of him.He saw her thrashing around,
eyes closed and mouth opened in a scream as she came. At that moment, he, too, orgasmed all over his moving fingers.”

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading about my favourite beastly men -who are yours?
