Look Here!

This has been a great weekend and it has only begun!  Another review came in for the anthology I’m in, One Touch, One Glance.  The whole story got Rated 5 Delightful Divas by Jaime!

Her recommendation for the whole story: Curl up with this one, folks. There’s something for every romance lover, and you’ll not be disappointed.

Her thoughts on the whole story:

This book is full of great stories. I flew through it, laughed, teared up a few times, and generally, had a great time delving into each world, meeting each new couple, and sharing their journeys. There are so many wonderful stories; I had to give them each a little bit individual attention. This is a terrific compilation of sweet, honest romance like I haven’t encountered in a long time.

And here is what she said about mine:

Title: Forever Guy
Author:
Jambrea Jo Jones
Summary:
Sam has always known what she wants, and that’s Jack. All she has to do, now he’s back in town, is convince him.

My review: Another gem. This story has all the elements I love. This story has it all, real characters, real relationships, and true love. What’s not to like? The author paints a vivid picture of small town life and community, and doesn’t sugar-coat the realities of coming home from war, knowing how impossible it is pick up where you left off. Starting fresh just might lead to forever, though.

I thought it was about time I put an excerpt from my upcoming book here on my blog. I hope you like it! It will release Dec. 9th and I can’t wait!!!

Samantha has a crush on Jack. Now that he’s back in town, she needs to convince him he’s her forever guy.

Literally running into Jack yesterday at the bank had to be a sign of the fates shining on her. Her dreams of him still visited her on lonely nights; the fluttering started in her chest, and her heart jumped as his eyes flashed in recognition, a slow grin creeping across his face. To see and speak to him after so long brought back the memories of the last time he walked away from her. Jack had left her no air to breathe and had broken her heart, not once looking back to see the girl she had been crying for him to come back.
Picking up the pieces took time, but to his credit, she never told him how she felt before he joined the military. She needed to grow up, and as Jack left for the Marine Corps, she felt it too soon for her to express her feelings for him. She needed to make sure her emotions weren’t mere puppy love. Sam had no intention of making the same mistake twice. This time, she wouldn’t let him leave because they belonged together in the forever kind of way.
Sam shook off the memories and raced to get ready for her evening. Tonight, her dreams would come true.

I received my first round of edits and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be.  First I should tell you that I love edits.  You may ask why and I’ll tell you.  They make my story better.  Anything that makes my story is a good thing.  It also helps me grow as a writer.

My husband tried to edit my story and I cried.  I think because I am too close to him and what he says.  If someone else edits me I take it in stride and work on sentence at a time.  When anyone edits my stuff I will get that first, Oh My God feeling where your stomach drops and you think, How am I going to fix this, but then I take a deep breath and dive in.

I already turned in my first set of edits and the turn around was great because I have the second round already.

The next question you may ask is, what edits are you working on?  I am working on edits for Forever Guy.   My story that will appear in the One Touch, One Glance Anthology along side 15 other authors.  I can’t wait until it is ready because I want to read all the other stories!
