Spotlight 11 – Lexxie Couper

Filed under: Uncategorized — jambrea @ 1:53 pm

Hmmm….I don’t remember that name before? How about you guys.  I looked and looked and didn’t see her on the list as a memeber at International Heat…but….wait…Oh….there it is!  heehee  It COULD be because Lexxie is the newest member of International Heat.  Here is what she has to say on the about page of IH:

Lexxie Couper (Newcastle, Down Under) is not a deviant. She just has a deviant’s imagination and is a little disturbed and twisted. She tends to live in the dark places inside your mind and takes great delight in making you squirm in your seat – in more ways than one. When she was little she wanted to be Stephen King when she grew up. Now she wants to be an extra on Chuck.

I have run across Lexx a couple of times over at the Samhain Yahoo Group and she is a LOT of fun to talk to. She is a great addition and I can’t wait to get to know her better!

Good Luck and for another chance to win go comment on the following blogs:

Update

Filed under: Uncategorized — jambrea @ 6:43 pm

Wow.  It’s been a bit I know. I’ve been a bad blogger.  I thought I would update everyone on the Manic Reader contest.  I mede it into the top then so my excerpt went on to the editor.  I was not voted Editor Choice though and didn’t hear anything about wanting to see more so I ‘m getting it ready and I’ll sub it to Samhain.  :)

Thanks everyone for your support.  It means a lot to me!  Soon I’ll have a website and I’ll either convert this blog over or I’ll start a new one on the website itself.  I do have three other places that I blog.

http://playgroundmystique.wordpress.com I blog here on Thurs.

http://internationalheat.wordpress.com I blog here, but don’t have a regular date.  There is always something going on.

http://themanyshades.blogspot.com I blog here on Tues.

:)   So you can always find me somewhere.

Again…thank you for your support.

967Today is the big day! High Line, the second book in TA’s Love of Sports series, comes out at Samhain today!  High Line is about Garrett who is Kasey’s twin brother.  Kasey is from my favorite book, Out of Bounds, and you meet Garrett for the first time while he is protecting his brother.  This time Garrett get’s his own story.  Here is what Samhain says:

“High Line” by T. A. Chase

Will giving him the green flag lead to love…or heartache?

The Love of Sports Series, Book 2

CJ Lamont is at the top of the racing world but his winning record is based on a carefully constructed lie. His world falls apart when his ex-wife reveals the truth. As he hits rock bottom, rescue comes from an unexpected source—Garrett Johnson, Hollywood’s hottest leading man.

Garrett’s acting career is taking off, bringing him accolades he’d never imagined. Good friends and family keep his days hopping, but watching his twin brother fall in love exposes the emptiness in Garrett’s life created by the betrayal of his ex-lover.

Garrett offers CJ a place to heal and a shoulder to lean on, telling himself it’s only to keep CJ from taking a more destructive path. But as time passes, the two men grow closer and CJ realizes he has a decision to make—whether to rebuild his fictitious life, or admit to loving a man who shines brighter than the Hollywood stars.

Will he reach for the star or sink back into his old life?

Warning: This title contains hot man love, sticky situations with honey, fast cars and faster men.

This book is so good.  I hope everyone takes time to buy it today.  Garrett is a great man and he had to sit back and watch Kasey fall in love while his love life is shattered.  Of course Garrett couldn’t go the easy way.  Oh no!  He falls hard for someone pushed out of the closet.  It’s hard, but TA makes it work!

Now for Dana!

983Her new story comes out today as well!  It’s called Very Much Alive and this one is a keeper!  I mean, come one…menage!  Two sexy men who can’t keep thier hands off each other and the woman who helps make them whole!  Here is what Samhain has to say:

“Very Much Alive” by Dana Marie Bell

Ending Grimm’s power games won’t be easy, but this time they have an ace in the hole. PI Jordan Grey, Guardian Investigation’s resident hot shot—and Grimm’s step-granddaughter.

Jordan Grey has her doubts when Logan and Kir show up in her office with a tall tale of how her step-grandfather has framed them for murder. And to top it all off, they’re claiming that they’re really the ancient Norse gods Loki and Baldur, and that Grimm is Odin!

When the two lovers see the sexy detective for the first time, stopping Grimm suddenly takes a back seat to seducing her into their arms. But Grimm never rests, and when his anger spills over onto Jordan, it sets them all on a collision course with a destiny that will rock their world…

Warning: This book contains explicit sex, graphic language, some violence, and hot male/male/female action. In fact, it could be considered a religious experience.

So…as soon as you can…go buy these books!!!

Here is the blurb, cover and a small excerpt.

Blurb:  Dismayed when the full moon reveals his lover’s secret, Butch runs instead of facing his fears. Fate crashes into his life when a train ride goes horribly wrong. Now Butch must face the truth–or will tragedy intervene yet again, separating the lovers forever?

Excerpt:

Lost in thought, Butch settled in his seat on the train, shook his head, and glanced around at the others occupying his space. His gaze landed on an attractive man who sat a few seats up. It couldn’t be who he thought it was, but something tickled his thoughts and brought back memories. He continued to stare at the handsome man and gasped as the stranger looked up. Butch became absorbed in the man’s dark brown eyes; a spark of recognition flared, but it was jolted away by a loud screeching noise. As darkness descended, he thought, it’s Mitch.

Butch tried to blink away the fuzz.

What happened? Where…oh, my God. The train…oh no, Mitch.

His vision wouldn’t cooperate, so he closed his eyes to focus his other senses. He took a deep breath and then gasped in shock at a sharp pain in his side. His hand hovered over the area. He explored the wound and felt something wet and sticky. He didn’t apply much pressure for fear he would make the injury worse.

“Baby, please don’t move.”

A small kiss fluttered on his forehead.

“Mitch? Is that you?” His injury forgotten for the moment, he waited for an answer.

“Yes, it’s me. I’m here. Just don’t move. You can’t—” Mitch choked on his words.

“What is it, Mitch? What’s wrong?” He didn’t want to panic, but he heard the fear in Mitch’s voice.

A hand rested on Butch’s forehead, and he stopped questioning. He remembered those hands; he’d dreamt of them—missed them. Now they stroked his hair away from his face in an attempt to calm him.

Why did I run?

“I don’t know much. The train crashed into something, and then the conductor came over the PA and made an announcement to ask us to sit tight until the rescue crews get here.”

“Mitch, I have to sit up. Would you help me? I don’t want to lie here and…why can’t I feel my legs?” Panic laced his voice. “And what’s that noise?”

Butch struggled to sit up, only to have Mitch hold him down.

“Butch, stop moving. I said stop, damn it! Listen to me.” Mitch paused. Butch heard the catch in his voice again.

Things must be worse than I realized.

This title is very affordable at only $1.49!

Let me share with you some of the Wonderful reviews we have gotten.

The first review for the anthology came from Dirty Girl Review:  http://dirtygirlreviews.blogspot.com/2008/11/one-touch-onr-glance.html

This anthology really touched my heart, which is why I am giving it a four star rating. It was an above average read, focusing on the emotion and romance not the physical side of love. So it was very satisfying to read.. Not only do I recommend you buy this for yourself, but also for your loved ones. It’s a romance book that won’t make you blush when you hand it to your mother-in-law. The book is sure to leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside after you are through reading.

4 Stars

The second review came from Cocktail Review:  http://cocktailreviews.wordpress.com/2008/11/24/one-touch-one-glance-freyas-bower/

This is what they said about my story:

Forever Guy by Jambrea Jo Jones

Sheriff Samantha Reynolds has a lot on her plate and mind, ensuring that the town of Port is free from crime. So, after being covered in mud after being knocked down by a pig (LOL), she is shocked to find that her brother’s best friend, Jack, has arrived back in town. She’s had a crush on him for years. Has she got a chance with him now he’s back, or will she have to forever hold her feelings inside?

An enjoyable tale in many respects, especially the pig image.

The whole anthology received:One of the highest honors.

The Whole Bottle of Champagne—These books far surpass 5 flutes of champagne. This is for exceptional works only. (From their site)

And the last review we received came from Dark Diva Reviews:  http://darkdivareviews.webs.com/romance.htm

(Scroll down, it is the second one)

This is what was said about my story:Title: Forever Guy
Author:
Jambrea Jo Jones
Summary:
Sam has always known what she wants, and that’s Jack. All she has to do, now he’s back in town, is convince him.

My review: Another gem. This story has all the elements I love. This story has it all, real characters, real relationships, and true love. What’s not to like? The author paints a vivid picture of small town life and community, and doesn’t sugar-coat the realities of coming home from war, knowing how impossible it is pick up where you left off. Starting fresh just might lead to forever, though.

Here is what she said about the whole anthology:This book is full of great stories. I flew through it, laughed, teared up a few times, and generally, had a great time delving into each world, meeting each new couple, and sharing their journeys. There are so many wonderful stories; I had to give them each a little bit individual attention. This is a terrific compilation of sweet, honest romance like I haven’t encountered in a long time.

My recommendation: Curl up with this one, folks. There’s something for every romance lover, and you’ll not be disappointed.

Rated 5 Delightful Divas by Jaime!

So we’ve received some great reviews and I’m very proud to be a part of this wonderful anthology.  The thing that makes me the happiest is I get to share this anthology with a great friend, wonderful author and amazing critique partner Kensana Darnell.  She is one of my partners in crime!

I don’t only share this day with my fellow anthology authors, but also with the hubby.  He received his first contract as well and…guess what….His book comes out today too!  lol  His buy link:
