Spotlight 8 – Jess Dee

Filed under: Contest, Writers, Writing — jambrea @ 3:11 pm

Jess Dee….Oh…Jess Dee. I’m trying to remember when I first met Ms. Dee. I’m sure it was through the Samhain Yahoo Group. I KNOW I’ve reviewed her wonderful books. But those two reasons are not the only reason I love Jess Dee. I finally started working on my first story. I had a wow moment when I finished it. I’m not sure how the conversation came about, but Jess Dee, THE Jess Dee offered to look at it. I sent her Dreams. She offered some awesome advice and helped me start my path to publishing. Now, the story she helped me with is getting ready for a November release. Too crazy!

Jess is always there to help and I love her for it. Now…how to score a ticket to visit her. V and I tried to get her to pick up the tab, I think I need to get back to her on that. heehee Usually when she has a new release you can see us on the cafe teasing back and forth about it. It’s FUN! :)

So congrats Jess Dee on all your success and I’m wishing you so much more!

All of these books can be found at Samhain Publishing

Jess also contributed to Samhain’s Menage and More anthology. Her story A Question of Trust is available in ebook or you can now find it in print in a story called Three’s Company (Jayne’s story Nice and Naughty is in there as well!)

Spotlight Seven – Me!

Filed under: Contest, Writers, Writing — jambrea @ 4:02 am

Yep.  I have to spotlight myself.  lol  I usually like to stay behind the spotlight. I’m more comfortable being the cheerleader for others.  :D

I’ve had a REALLY good year and hope to finish it out strong. It is still hard for me to believe that I’m a published author, but it’s true.  lol  I have two shorts already released, Forever Guy  – in the One Touch, One Glance Anthology and Runaway Man. Both from Freya’s Bower. You can also find them at Fiction Wise. If you win you’ll have your pick between the two. If you’ve read them….I’ll think of something else to do for you.  :)

Coming soon, I have three stories. Unseen Path from eXtasy, Dreams from Total eBound and Semper Fi: Magnus from Liquid Silver. I have a couple others that MIGHT come out this year, but I’m not sure yet. If not…next year should be even better!

I feel so blessed to be in this business and to have met all the people that I have. The International Heat woman have been great!

Comment here for a chance to win and for other chances, check out the other spotlights!  Thanks for stopping by! And if you’ve commented before, remember to stop by the International Heat blog to see if you’re a winner!  :)

Destiny is waiting…

Moira doesn’t know who’s hunting her, but she knows why. In her youth she unleashed a deadly force that killed everything within range—a strange power she has vowed never to use again.

Needing protection, she risks a bit of the old magic to call for backup. She gets more than she asks for. A lot more. A proud, sexually magnetic, enraged centaur who’s far from a quiet, obedient servant.

Kiron at first tries to intimidate the witch into freeing him, but she possesses more backbone than the average human. When she’s attacked again, he realizes she’s not a real witch. In fact, she’s not even human. And the sparks flying between them have nothing to do with the magical shackles that bind them together.

Curiosity grows to admiration, then to a love that in the end may not be enough to protect her. Moira’s enemies are closing in, intending to harness her power to restore a dark kingdom that has lain dormant for a thousand years.

There’s only one, heart-wrenching way out—give herself over to the full extent of her powers hoping that her true destiny lies with Kiron, and not in fulfilling a prophecy of death…

Warning: A super-hot centaur, kinky sex with vegetation and an extensive discussion of the ecological importance of primeval forests.

SUBMISSION TIMES TWO
Released by Romance Unbound

Ethan and Cam met the year before at an Submission-Times-Two-coverunderground BDSM club and their connection was intense and immediate. There was just one small problem–they’re both subs. To work around this, they agree to find their own Doms for play, engaging in hot scenes complete with whips and chains, but leaving their hearts at home.

The setup works fine, until the day a hot Dom named Maestro enters the picture. For the first time, Ethan finds himself keeping secrets.

Maestro has secrets of his own. Unrequited passion and sizzling hot D/s lead to the three agreeing to a play scene that ends up ensnaring them all in something more powerful than any of them had dreamed of. Can two subs submit to a man who would claim not only their bodies, but their hearts and minds? Or will the intensity of a D/s ménage break their world apart.

You can read and excerpt on her site: http://clairethompson.net/books/rom-mm-bdsm/subx2.html

I loved this book. Ethan and Cam show a true love for each other and I love they way they COMMUNICATE!  They talk to each other about their feelings and what is going on in their lives.  Of course, they have to with the type of open relationship they have. Or should say, they need.  When I read Subx2 I could feel the love of this couple. The struggle Ethan has about telling Cam shows and I’m glad he spoke to Cam.

Enter Andrew. What a great third character and he really adds to the dynamic of Cam and Ethan. They need him.  I think if Andrew didn’t enter when he did that Ethan and Cam might not have lasted. Not with what they both needed. They didn’t need a play-part time Dom. They need someone who can care for them. I think the club scene would have become old.

Claire does a wonderful job with this story and reading Subx2 reminds me why I love Claire’s writing. If you love Claire like I do you NEED to pick this book up because it TOTALLY ROCKS!  :)

Some of you might not be aware of it, but Claire opened her own publishing company Romance Unbound. So support her and go buy the book from her site.

The best dreams are made of naughty and spice.

Rebecca Williams is about to achieve her goal of graduating from a prestigious university and winning a coveted spot in her mentor’s cutting-edge psychology practice. She just needs one more qualification: sexual experience. She never dreamed it would come at the hands of the man she’s admired and wanted for six years. Dr. Kurt Foster.

Kurt, a brilliant psychologist in the field of sexual therapy, is a scientist to the core. Attraction and lust are nothing more than chemical reactions, in his clinical opinion. Love? It’s just a figment of the imagination born of nature’s directives. He’s on the brink of proving it with a new machine that uncovers latent desires.

In short order, Becca’s forbidden lust for her boss is exposed. As Kurt continues to enlighten her on the darker facets of her sexuality, the student unexpectedly becomes the teacher.
And suddenly Kurt is confronted with the irrefutable proof that love is so much more than a societal construction.

Warning: This book is only suitable for readers who are turned on by hot doctors engaging in sexual experiments, bondage, ménage a trois, exhibitionism, suspension, anal sex and other deviant behavior using mechanical stimulation devices they’ve invented to make your wildest dreams come true.

Carol Lynne

Filed under: Reviews, Writers, Writing — jambrea @ 1:00 pm

Jambrea-approved[1]

I love this woman!  lol  I have fallen in love with her boys.  I just recently found her through my friend T.  She suggested that I would love Carol Lynne and she was RIGHT!

Eye of the BeholderI started with the Good Brothers and that went into Cattle Valley.  After I finished Cattle Valley I fould out that her Campus Cravings books would feed into the Cattle series as well so I had to have those too!  lol  I devoured them.  As a matter of fact I just finished re reading the Good Brothers and Cattle Valley to get ready for the new Cattle Valley book, Eye of the Beholder.

Eye of the Beholder…ROCKED!  OMG. I loved it.    It was a wonderful addition to the Cattle Valley series and I can’t wait for the new book.  I love that Carol deals with real life issues.  HIV is one of the issues that sexually active adults have to be aware of. She shows the world through her words that a person with HIV is just like you and me.  I think that is wonderful and with books like Carol’s out, I hope it can open some eyes to those who are still afraid of people with the HIV status!

Eye of the Beholder…that title really says it all.  I love Rance. I’m glad Carol Texas Hold'emwrote Bo for Rance. These two are wonderful together.  Of course…there was a small glimpse at the end of the story of another couple!  You’ll have to read it and see if you are thinking what I”m thinking!!!

Okay…Now I’m off to fee my Carol addiction by reading the first book in her new Poker series!!!  If you haven’t tried Carol Lynne, you should!

AND…*squee*  she dedicated Eye of the Beholder to me!  She is so cool!  Thanks Carol and I can’t wait for more!

Oh My, Oh my

Filed under: Writers, Writing, Writing Challenge — jambrea @ 3:30 pm

A few weeks back I entered a writing contest.  They have been voting on enteries all month long and it’s my turn. Each week the top two votes get to be seen by an NAL editor.  If the editor likes the excerpts she could ask for a full!  That is why some of you might not have seen me around as much.  I’m not done with my story and I’ve been plugging away on it!

Here is where you vote: http://manicreaders.com/index.cfm?disp=authorContestVoting You have to be a member, but it doesn’t cost anything to sign up.  Take a peek and vote for the two you think belong at the top.  I’m hoping one of them will be me.

I am number 6, but PLEASE vote for the one you would like to see a full story on.  :)
