Oh My, Oh my

A few weeks back I entered a writing contest.  They have been voting on enteries all month long and it’s my turn. Each week the top two votes get to be seen by an NAL editor.  If the editor likes the excerpts she could ask for a full!  That is why some of you might not have seen me around as much.  I’m not done with my story and I’ve been plugging away on it!

It’s Not a Fluke!

I was told I could shout this to the world so here it goes!  I am now an eXtasy author!  I have been accepted!!!  Once I have more news I’ll share it.  I’m sending my contract in tomorrow and just HAD to let everyone know that it isn’t a fluke and I have a second book coming out!!  Of course I have no idea when.  lol  BUT…I do know that it will be coming out. heehee

I’m really excited because eXtasy isn’t taking on new authors.  The only reason I was able to submit to them was because I placed in the top five for a blog competion that Seven Wicked Writers put on for Halloween!  All of the top five were offered a chance to sub a completed manuscript.  I finished mine and sent it in and was accepted to be one of eXtasy’s authors.  I am so happy!

Monday Update

I didn’t do any writing this weekend, but today I added 1,248 on Unseen.  I also wrote about 500 for one blog and for another almost 600 words.  For Sven I am only counted my Unseen words.

It seems like my average count is around 1,040.  I can be happy with that.  I would like to have a couple days with over 1,000 and closer to 2,000.  That would make up for the two days I missed last week.  I know it will happen.  I’m just happy that I’m adding words most days.  Thank you Sven.

Sven Update

Unseen Path is the story I am working on with Sven.  I am sweating away, that is for sure!  I figured I would blog my process.  I might not do it every day, but today was a Sven check in day so I wanted to post my results so far this week.

I wanted to add more words for the missed work on Tuesday, but I know I will make it up sometimes this week.  Plus I get 7 free days.    I wasn’t sure if I would be able to get 1,000 tonight, so I’m glad I was able to pull through.

I tried this a couple years ago and didn’t do very well.  I’m hoping that this time will be different.  I have an actual project I want to work on.  It is called Unseen Path.  It is a small story I started as a blog contest and I was offered the chance to sub it when I’m finished.  I think it is a perfect project for Sven.  My goal is 1,000 words a day!  If I keep up then I should have this one finished AND be able to work on something else.

Writing Challenge

Well the writing challenge is starting up again.  March 1st is the start date.  I’m trying to decide if I want to take up the challenge again.  Last time I failed, miserably!  I started out fine, but then I just stopped.  I’ve really been wrapped up in my reviews so I’m just wondering if I have the time to start a challenge.  Last time it did push me to start a few stories so maybe this time I could actually finish them!  I’ve still got a few days to decided.  I’ll keep you posted!

I have let Sven down. 

I was worried when I signed up for the challenge that I wouldn’t be able to fully participate.  The one thing that Sven has helped me do is get back to writing.  I used to write all the time when I was younger and it was something that I always wanted to do.  Because of this challenge I have started a lot of new stories that I continue to work on, but real life has made it so I’m not keeping up with my word count.  Of course my goal has never been how many words I can write a day, it has been to finish one story.  Hopefully I will still be able to complete that goal.
